Militants detained; weapons cache found

Coalition forces detained five suspected Taliban militants in Zabul province, Afghanistan, on Monday, and Afghan civilians led coalition and Afghan security forces to a weapons cache Saturday in Paktia province, military officials reported. 

80 percent of surge troops in place

Eighty percent of the U.S. military units involved with the surge of troops into Baghdad and western Iraq are now in place, a senior U.S. military officer said in Baghdad Sunday.
