The DoD has launched a new program that offers servicemembers undergoing mental health treatment a bridge of support as they transition between health care systems or providers.

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates has called on every member of the DoD to play a personal role in creating a secure environment that will help to prevent more tragedies like the Nov. 5 shooting rampage that left 13 people dead at Fort Hood, Texas.

According to a recent Short-Term Energy Outlook report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, “the annual, average, regular-grade, retail gasoline price will increase from $2.35 per gallon in 2009 to $2.84 in 2010.”

Long first woman to lead major intelligence agency

The Defense Department is on track to transition the majority of its more than 220,000 civilian employees out of the National Security Personnel System by Sept. 30, more than a year ahead of deadline, the official heading up that transition said Feb. 18.
