Juneteenth lecture
Alexandria Black History Museum hosts historian C.R. Gibbs to explore the story of Africans in Texas, with a presentation, “The Secret History of Juneteenth.“ The free event is Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. 
Juneteenth, or the “19th of June,“ recognizes June 19, 1865, when, in Galveston, Texas, Union General Gordon Granger announced freedom for all slaves in Texas, more than two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed and enforced by President Abraham Lincoln.

Final Twilight Tattoos
Performed by ensembles of The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” and The 3rd U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard), the U.S. Army’s most popular outdoor ceremonial pageant, Twilight Tattoo is Wednesdays this year through July 1.
Pre-ceremony pageantry begins at 7 p.m. and the pageant starts at 7:15 p.m. at Fort Lesley J. McNair. The closest Metro stop is Waterfront-SEU Station on the Green Line.
Twilight Tattoo is an hour-long sunset military pageant. 
Performances are free and open to the public. Bleacher seating is available on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Father’s Day Tours
Three Alexandria museums offer free tours on Father’s Day, Sunday.
From 1 to 5 p.m. at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, fathers can tour the historic tavern and City Hotel.

From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., fathers can tour the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum, at 105-107 S. Fairfax St. Information is available by calling 703-838-3852 or from apothecarymuseum.org.
The Friendship Firehouse Museum also offers free tours from 1 to 4 p.m.

Airport open house
Manassas Regional Airport has its first open house, “Big Boys Toys,“ from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event, free and open to the public, will have refreshments; kids’ activities; entertainment; Virginia State Police canine and motorcycle demos; aircraft; helicopters; RVs and classic cars.
The Prince William Composite Squadron, Virginia Wing, Civil Air Patrol will support the event and display its search and rescue aircraft, electronic equipment and communications equipment.
Inexpensive airplane rides in the traffic pattern will also be available.

Free parking and shuttle bus service will be provided from the Bull Run VRE parking lot.
