Entertainment briefs

MWR’s activities for Month of the Military Child continue with the following events:

Friday
Crafts, Stories, and Snacks. Apron-painting from 10 a.m. to noon at George Washington Village Community Center and again Monday.
Art Exhibition, for registered patrons only, at South Post CDC from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Family Bingo Night, open to the community, children in sixth through 12th grades, and their parents. Children need to be supervised by their parents. No registration necessary. Located at Youth Services Bldg. from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.

Saturday
Opening day activities for the 2008 season of Little League start at 9 a.m. at the baseball fields, followed by the season’s first games.
EFMP Open Swim at Benyaurd Indoor Pool, TIME HERE .
Parent and Youth Dance Off, free, open to children in sixth through 12th grade (and their parents) who are registered with CYS. Children are supervised. Youth Services Building from 6 to 9 p.m.

Monday
Sophie the Performing Dog, for registered patrons only, South Post CDC, 9:30 a.m.

Tuesday
Crafts, Stories, and Snacks. Apron-painting from 10 a.m. to noon at Lewis Village Community Center.

Wednesday
Crafts, Stories, and Snacks. Apron-painting from 10 a.m to noon at Vernondale Village Community Center.
USO Movie Night, at the Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mommy and Me Yoga, open to infants through preschoolers, supervised by a parent. Free. Registration is available through Child and Youth Services Central Enrollment, 805-9146. The yoga classes are in the School-Age Services Building. Times for different age groups are:
Toddlers (1 year-3 years), 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.
Infants (1 month-1 year), 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Preschool (3 years-5 years), 1:35 to 2:05 p.m.

April 18
Springpalooza, free and open to Fort Belvoir Elementary School students and their parents. Children must be supervised. Event is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the school. April 19
Parent’s Night Out Ping Pong Tournament. Free and open to children in sixth through 12th grades registered with CYS. Children are supervised. The event is in the Youth Services Building from 6 to 8 p.m.
Parents’ and Kids’ Night Out, both free. Reservations are required. Parents are at the South Post CDC from 6 to 10 p.m., with kids at the School-Age Services building.

April 21
Planting and Recycling Events, for registered patrons at the North and South Post CDCs.

April 22
Crafts, Stories, and Snacks. Apron-painting at Lewis Village Community Center from 10 a.m. to noon.

April 23
Crafts, Stories, and Snacks, from 10 a.m. to noon at George Washington Village Community Center.
