Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeak-quel - Tonight, Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m.; Sunday, 3:30 p.m. (Anna Farris, Justin Long) Now in the care of Dave Seville’s nephew, Alvin, Simon and Theodore take a break from pop-music stardom and return to school. Almost immediately, the tiny tunesmiths are given the giant task of saving their school’s music program by winning a battle of the band’s contest. Though the boys think winning the contest will be easy, romantic and musical sparks fly when they meet Brittany, Eleanor and Jeannette - also known as The Chipettes. Sherlock Holmes - Tonight, 8:30 p.m. (Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams) Robert Downey Jr. brings the legendary detective to life as he has never been portrayed before. Jude Law stars as Holmes’ trusted colleague, Watson, a doctor and war veteran who is a formidable ally for Sherlock Holmes. Rated PG-13 (intense sequences of violence and action, some startling images and a scene of suggestive material). 2 hrs 8 mins.
Leap Year - Friday and Saturday, 8:30 p.m. (Amy Adams, Matthew Goode) When yet another anniversary passes by without a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Anna decides to take action. Aware of an Irish tradition that allows women to pop the question on Feb. 29th, Anna plans to follow her lover to Dublin and ask him to marry her. Fate has other plans, however, and Anna winds up on the other side of the Emerald Isle with a handsome, but surly, Irishman named Declan - who may just lead Anna down the road to true love. Rated PG (sensuality and language). 1 hr 37 mins.
Planet 51 - Saturday, 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. (Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel) An astronaut lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it only to find the planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent 1950s America, and those only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders - like him. Rated PG (mild sci-fi action and some suggestive humor). 1 hr 36 mins.
Twilight Saga: New Moon - Sunday, 6 p.m. (Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson)  The second installment of Stephenie Meyer’s phenomenally successful Twilight series. The romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of - only to find herself in greater peril than ever before. Rated PG-13 (some violence and action). 2 hrs 10 mins.
Avatar - Wednesday, 6 p.m. (Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana) A reluctant hero embarks on an epic adventure, ultimately fighting to save the alien world he has learned to call home. Rated PG-13 (intense epic battle sequences/ warfare, sensuality, language, smoking). 2 hrs 30 mins.
