My main motivation for writing these articles is I feel like it helps Army communities get needed financial information and makes me feel like I’m doing my part to support the troops. The other motivation is, of course, for the fame, the glory, and the ridiculous amount of money they pay me … and my ability to be incredibly sarcastic with my writing.

I can still hear my mother telling me to put the baby down.  It was years ago, but I can still hear her say, in no uncertain terms: “Put the baby down.”

Now I’m in the throws of the back-to-school season. I find myself asking, ‘Where did the summer go?’

Having started this job a bit more than a month ago, and subsequently trying to move to the area from southeast Virginia, I knew it’d be a challenge to find a home for me, my active-duty husband stationed at another local military facility and our three-child, two-cat family.
