Metrobus service changes affect Belvoir commuters
Service changes on several Metrobus lines in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia began Sunday, according to a recent Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority release. Fort Belvoir workers will find four trips added to the Richmond Highway Express weekday schedule. Additional northbound trips will leave the post at 6:29 and 6:44 a.m. and new southbound trips will leave the King Street Metrorail station at 3:42 and 4 p.m.

VDOT offers traffic alerts on demand
The Virginia Department of Transportation has revamped its free 511 Virginia service.
According to a recent VDOT press release, commuters may call 511 anytime from any number and receive traffic reports, request driving directions and find tips on getting into other modes of transit.
Motorists can also sign up for personalized traffic information delivered to electronic devices and computers. This up-to-the-minute road data is customized to show drivers what’s going on with the roads they travel most.
