DES Journal





Fort Belvoir’s Directorate of Emergency Services reports the following incidents occurred recently on the installation:

* Driving while license suspended; Plantation Road, adjacent to Woodlawn Gate.
• Concealing or taking possession of merchandise (shoplifting); Gorgas Road,
• Simple assault, disobeying a lawful order of commanding officer; S. Mansion Court, Woodlawn Village.
• Traffic accident, (traffic violations, failure to maintain proper control); Richmond Highway/Pohick Road.
• Reckless driving by speed (79 mph in a 50 mph zone); aggressive driving; failure to wear safety belt (Richmond Highway, adjacent to Fairfax County Parkway)
• Driving while license suspended; speeding (67 mph in a 45 mph zone); Fairfax County Parkway, adjacent to Anderson Park.
• Traffic accident resulting in damage to property - following too closely; Gunston Road, adjacent to Goethals Road.
• Traffic accident resulting in damage to property - following too closely; traffic violations, leaving the scene and possession of registration cards; Pohick Road adjacent to Theote Road.
• Three reports of unlawful entry of a vehicle; Woodlawn.
• Unlawful/forced entry (including automobiles); larceny of private funds (not checks or from billets) - less than $100. South Gristmill Court.
• Traffic accident resulting in damage to private property. Beulah and J.J. Kingman Road.
• Larceny of private property - $100 and over; unlawful/forced entry (including automobiles).  Mansion Court, Woodlawn Village.
• Unlawful/forced entry (including automobiles), Mansion Court, Woodlawn Village.
• Larceny of private property; Forney Loop, Fairfax Village.
• Larceny of private property; wrongful destruction of private property. Forney Loop, Fairfax Village.
• Larceny of private property, Forney Loop, Fairfax Village.
• Housebreaking with intent to commit grand larceny, property over $1,000; grand larceny over $1,000; Forney Loop, Fairfax Village.
• Driving while license suspended; Pohick Road adjacent to Tulley Gate.
• Simple assault on Belvoir Road at Peterson Loop.
• Wrongful damaging of private property; Bldg. 1457.
• Concealing or taking possession of merchandise - shoplifting; Gorgas Road
Violations included 105 traffic stops.
Recent Fire and Emergency Services responses:
Fires - one reported oven fire in Woodlawn Village, total loss estimated at $300
•Emergency medical treatment - 11
•Hazardous condition calls - 3
•Service calls - 7
•Good intent calls - 1
•False calls - 11
•Total responses on Belvoir - 34
•Total responses since Jan. 1 - 155
•Soldiers, residents and civilians should report any suspicious person or activity to the Fort Belvoir Police •Department at its non-emergency numbers: 703-806-3104 or 3106.
•Emergencies should be called in to 911.
