From power distribution products to office furniture, the Fort Belvoir community viewed the latest in technologies at the Fort Belvoir Technology Exposition on Tuesday.

National Conference Services Incorporated sponsored the event that featured 24 exhibitors with a variety of products for the government office and the military.

“We try to bring the technology companies together with personnel on site for one day,” said Allison Muehl, event manager.

The expositions take place twice a year, normally in February and July.

“We are a small business and we are just trying to bring market awareness to our overall capabilities,” said Alan Schwind, regional sales manager at Marway Power Solutions.

Marway Power Solutions, based out of Itasca, Ill., designs and engineers custom power distribution units, power control panels, racks and enclosures, and provides system integration services.

Paul Castelo came to the expo to promote Universal Laser Systems. CO2 and Diode Crystal Lasers can cut and engrave a variety of materials. The lasers can create bar codes, engrave awards, storage bins and fabrics.

Still others provided more complicated technologies.

“Our technology is enabling the whole training aspect to change,” said Harry Garonzik, director of Digi-Data, a corporation that manufactures high performance and high capacity data storage systems.

In the past, military members trained with scenarios drawn on dry erase boards where they erased as they continued through the scenario, said Garonzik. With the data storage systems, members can record their scenarios and then replay to determine mistakes.

Krueger International provides office seating, systems furniture, tables, architectural wall systems, and furniture and furnishings to government and commercial offices.

“Once you create a wall or room, the next step is what you put in it,” said Dan McGraw, sales specialist, who described a variety of security features that are available to government offices.
