Fairfax schools accepting computer donations



Public schools in Fairfax County accept donated computers provided they meet an acceptable specification regardless of whether they are donated centrally or to a particular school facility.
These technical specifications establish the acceptable standards for donated computers capable of connecting to the Fairfax County Public Schools network.
Acceptable minimum specifications for Windows-based computers:
• Pentium III / 863 MHz
• VGA or better display adapter
• 512 MB RAM
• Mouse or pointing device
• 20GB Hard Drive
• 15-inch LCD monitor
• CD- or DVD-ROM
• Keyboard
All of the above in working order
Please note that FCPS no longer accepts donations of Macintosh computers.
