Thursday, October 23, 2008Iraqi army logisticians, U.S. sustainers participate in first training conferenceBy Pfc. Amanda Tucker 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary)
Brig. Gen Michael Lally, commander of the Fort Knox-based 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) and Col. Therese O’ Brien, commander of Fort Belvoir’s 55th Sustainment Brigade partnered to give their advice to Iraqi army leaders who attended. In addition to allowing the Iraqi and U.S. partners a better opportunity to share ideas and lessons learned, the conference specifically addressed a number of ongoing logistical initiatives. The conferees shared information on processing and supply of repair parts as well as upcoming Iraqi army training on vehicle code-out procedures. Iraqi army and U.S. counterparts also engaged in face-to-face coordination and took a detailed tour of KMTB logistics facilities. 3rd Sustainment Command continues to build partnerships with Iraqi army third line logistics activities. The Logistics Training Assistance Team currently partnering at KMTB is one of five active LTATs within the command with an additional eight slated for activation in upcoming months.
