Build it and they will come … one of the most popular playgrounds on Fort Belvoir happens to be the newest. Nestled in the east end of the new housing development in George Washington Village the brand new 6175-square foot tot lot is American with Disabilities Act compliant and wheelchair accessible.

The playground is designed to accommodate children with or without special needs, so families can play together side-by-side. Wheelchair ramps and ADA play structures and swings, along with a fenced lot, make it appealing to families from the entire post.

Mark J. Leo, Development Associate, Clark Realty Capital, LLC and the design team from Triple A Sports Systems who also installed the equipment, combined ideas to come up with a custom design that is child-friendly and aesthetically pleasing.

The installation process took nine weeks from start to finish and the playground has turned out to be very well-received by parents, children and caregivers alike. “I’ve seen people using it every day and the reaction has been extremely positive. We are very pleased with the final product"said Leo.
