Pentagon Channel now available

The Pentagon Channel recently expanded its Video on Demand distribution to Cox Communications Northern Virginia.

Subscribers now have access to the Pentagon Channel original documentary program series: RECON. VOD subscribers will also now have access to episodes of Fit For Duty & Grill Sergeants. All three programs are available as a free On DEMAND service.  Users can find the Pentagon Channel programming under “Pentagon Channel” in the “FreeZone” section of their On Demand service, accessible on the programming guide’s Channel 1.

“Cox’s decision to carry Pentagon Channel VOD content on their line up in Northern Virginia helps us fulfill our mission of providing timely military news and information to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces,” said Allison Barber, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs - Internal Communications, adding that a large faction of servicemembers and Pentagon employees reside. The coverage area includes Fort Belvoir residents and Guard and Reserve members in the area. 

The Pentagon Channel, the DoD’s satellite television channel, broadcasts military news and information for and about the 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces - active duty, National Guard and Reserve.

The channel is available on base to more than 1.3 million servicemembers who live and work on more than 355 military bases, camps and installations in the U.S. The channel is also available to 800,000 service members and their families serving overseas in 178 countries via the American Forces Radio and Television Service.

Pentagon Channel programming is also streamed live 24/7 at http://www.pentagonchannel.mil, which has VOD and podcast, audio and video.
