Family readiness groups share information, resources

Fort Belvoir family readiness group leaders came together on April 12 to share information and resources during their monthly FRG Roundtable meeting. 

Army completes GSA study

The Army has completed a Congressionally directed feasibility study of the General Services Administration warehouse in Springfield for possible use in planning for 22,000 new employees moving to Fort Belvoir under Base Realignment and Closure 2005.

OCS class reunites, remembers fallen comrade

A small but dedicated group of about 30 former officers visited Fort Belvoir Saturday to remember a fallen comrade and mark the 40th anniversary of their graduation from the Army’s School of Engineering Officer Candidate School. 

Towns solicit relocating workers

A variety of community representatives - from town mayors to school board advisors - from Huntsville, Ala., and the surrounding communities traveled to Arlington, Va. last week to meet with U.S. Department of Defense Missile Defense Agency employees whose jobs are relocating to Redstone Arsenal, Ala. as part of Base Realignment and Closure 2005. 

Organization provides scholarships to families of fallen Soldiers

Members of the Fort Belvoir community who have lost a loved one in serving in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom have an underutilized resource available to them that can help surviving spouses and children with education costs.

Chloe Miraco just moved to Fort Belvoir from Spain, Jaihzelle Arnold’s mother is originally from the Philippines and Gigi Montano’s grandmother is originally from Mexico. Each of these Fort Belvoir children and many more came together on April 12 for the first-ever Family Child Care Multicultural Fair.
