Belvoir says goodbye to a four-legged hero

Arrow, a 9-year-old German shepherd, served as an explosive detection and law enforcement canine on the installation for virtually his entire life until he was diagnosed with a severe form of cancer and put down on Jan. 14.

BRAC impact vetted at public meeting

Base Realignment and Closure and the impact of bringing an additional 22,000 personnel to Fort Belvoir by 2011 brought a crowd of more than 200 together for a public information meeting Jan. 24 at the Springfield Hilton. 

Lauritzen hosts two town halls

Installation Commander Col. Brian Lauritzen hosted two workforce town hall meetings Jan. 25 and Monday at Wood Theater to brief the garrison workforce on the status of several Fort Belvoir topics related to their jobs.
