The following incidents were reported to the Fort Belvoir Provost Marshal Station Oct. 29 through Nov. 4:

Fort Belvoir’s Wood Theater is closed through Nov. 27 for renovations and upgrades.

Headquarters, Army Materiel Command held a National Security Personnel System video teleconference Oct. 31 for headquarters and major subordinate command employees.

Fort Belvoir’s Family Child Care Program thanked families and childcare providers with a feast and entertainment at the Sosa Community Center Nov. 2.

The article headlined “Belvoir children explain why Character Counts” in the Nov. 2 issue of the Belvoir Eagle contained a quotation error. 

Nearly 200 people volunteered last Thanksgiving to put together food baskets for Soldiers in need, and the time for turkeys, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pies has come again.

Staff writerDancing and singing into the hearts of students, Fort Belvoir Elementary School kindergarten teacher Nancy Lexo is creatively enhancing learning in the classroom. Because of her unique approach to teaching, the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts in Reston, Va., recently recognized Lexo for her outstanding initiatives with the Wolf Trap Teacher Award. 

On Sept. 30, Congress passed the Military Personnel Financial Services Protection Act to curtail unreasonable credit interest rates paid by military personnel and to establish mandatory requirements for the sale of insurance and investment advisor services on military installations worldwide.

With Veterans Day approaching, citizens have begun looking at the sacrifices servicemembers have endured to protect the freedoms of America.
