Last week, in Minor Division play, the Indians defeated the Red Sox 12-5.

The Indians jumped on the board first, and held the Sox scoreless in their first.

Leadoff batter Trentin Dunn doubled to left and scored when teammate Ryan Rodriguez grounded out.

The Red Sox hurler, Lorenzo Kelly, led off the Sox scoring drive in the second with a double, then scored as teammate Tyler Bardo hit a sacrifice to short. Two more runs crossed the plate before the Indians retuned.

The Indians second saw four runs cross the plate on a combination of singles and RBIs by Trentin Dunn, Quincy Johnson, Aaron Taylor and Trevor Dunn.

The Sox plated one more run in the third as Kelly, on base for the second consecutive inning, scored as ball four was granted to Justin Daniels.

The Indians added three more in the third. Dennis Rendleman reached on with a single, then advanced when teammate Scott Kilgore was granted at first after being hit with the pitch. After Taylor singled, all three scored on a bases-clearing hit by Trevor Dunn.

The Sox chalked up one more run in their third and fourth innings on a series of walks.  The Indians tallied four more runs in their fourth to close out the win.

In the second game of the week the Tigers tangled with the Yankees, and came away with a hard-fought 12-10 win.

Tiger Jacob Townsend got the game underway with a single to left, and later scored on a bases-loaded walk to Ray Chambers. Bobby Haas cleared the bases with a single up the middle.  The Yankees came back with two in their first.

A solo homerun by Darion Prescott started the drive for the Yankees.  C.J. Wallington reached safely on a walk, and then scored as Marjorie O’Laughlin singled to drive him in. The Tigers returned in the top of the second scoring four runs on singles by Townsend and Mark Jones.

The Yankees also scored four in their half of the second as Prescott and Cameron Bryant slammed singles.

The Tigers scored four more to take the lead in the third to edge out the Yankees.
