The Junior Division Nationals took on Alexandria Potomac Yankees Thursday. Edgar Pabon, on the mound for the Nationals, got two quick outs in the first, then added suspense to the game as he walked the bases full before causing Vance Walters to ground to second for the third out.

In the Nationals first, Pabon was granted a base on balls, stole his way to third and scored on a single down the right field line by Speedy Parker. After Parker was thrown out at the plate, Mike Butts ripped a single and scored on a subsequent single by Robby Bosko. The Nationals would get only one more hit the remainder of the game - a double from the bat of Parker.

Despite the Yankees acquiring six hits the score was tied at nine the end of four. Mike Butts, on to pitch for the Nationals, got two quick outs from the Yankees before Rick D’Augistino was granted a base on balls. Paul McClure was on with a single, and a second walk issued to Dane Hosse loaded the bases. Then it was a bases-clearing single by Aaron Mealey to give
the Yankees a 12-9 lead.

With darkness coming, the Nationals came to bat and three consecutive walks loaded the bases. Two outs followed, then three more walks tied at 12. The bases were loaded when the next pitch produced a foul ball. A called strike three ended the game tied at 12.

In Minor Division action Saturday, the Blue Jays defeated the Tigers 12-8 with every Jay on the team scoring at least one run.

For the Tigers, James Washington was the big runner as he crossed the plate three times, and teammates Michael Kennedy and Jakasha Daniel each plated two runs. In the second game, the Red Sox and Indians played to a tie at five.
