A National Guardsman was one of the first two African-Americans to ever qualify for a U.S. Winter Olympic team.

The Virginia Bowhunters Association held a statewide indoor competition last weekend, where 193 archers completed at four locations.

After the Blizzard of 2010 wreaked havoc across the National Capital Region, the post basketball teams dug their way out to restart the season with a retooled schedule. Friday games were added to the lineup to make up for those missed during the storm.

The Fort Belvoir Competition Cheer Squad has had an incredible start to the 2009-2010 season. The girls achieved a first-place finish in a Spirit Unlimited Championship performance at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County competition Feb.13, the second competition of the year.

MEDDAC’s near-perfect record kept them tied with Headquarters Battalion’s A-team after a 56-26 victory over Clark Pinnacle Monday night.
