Mount Vernon High School’s principal has a meet-and-greet and welcome at the youth center from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The center is Bldg. 1003, Langfitt Loop.
The event is a chance for students and parents to meet the principal, hear about the upcoming school year’s programs and activities and ask questions.

Technology Expo
DOIM sponsors a technology expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the Community Club, Bldg. 1200, Taylor Road.
The event and refreshments are free.
More than 40 vendors are expected in the fields of communication technologies, systems integration, network solutions, defense and Homeland Security equipment, engineering and IT products, storage solutions, office automation, data management, audio and visual, and hard- and software.

Gospel back-to-school event
Woodlawn Chapel Gospel Service has a Stay Fly: Back to School Bash is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Belvoir’s Wells Fieldhouse, 1801 Goethal Road.
The event is meant to inspire youth and adults alike with the word of God and musical ministry, including Praise & Worship and Holy Hip-Hop. Food will be provided. More information is available from Sean L. Miller, seanlmiller @gmail.com.
All visitors in vehicles without DoD decals must enter Belvoir through Tulley Gate and have a valid photo ID.

Crafts in the Community Centers
Staff from Child & Youth Services will bring arts and crafts to the neighborhood community centers. The events are free and pre-registration is not required. Summer-themed crafts and activities are from 10 a.m. to noon on the following dates:
