Join scouting night
Cub Scout Pack 118 has its annual Join Scouting Night at the Fort Belvoir Scout Hut, Bldg. 629, Warren Road, tonight at 7 p.m. 
Scouting can teach boys positive values and skills while they have fun. Parents of boys in first through fifth grades are welcome to come out, learn about scouting and register with the Boy Scouts of America.
Membership dues, $12.10, will be collected at registration.

Book Fair
The Fort Belvoir Parent Teacher Organization has its Fall Book Fair through Friday on the elementary school stage from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Mail Handlers’ Training
Mail Handlers’ Training is at 8 a.m. Tuesday in Room 107 of Barden Education Center. Registration is available through Marcus Francis, marcus.francis

Highway cleanup
Weather permitting, the Lord Fairfax Silver Chapter, U.S. Army Warrant Officer Association conducts its quarterly Adopt-a-Highway cleanup Saturday.
The group meets at the Mosby Reserve Center parking lot at the intersection of Kingman Road and Route 7100 (the Fairfax County Parkway East), at 8 a.m.
All volunteers are invited and encouraged to assist with this community-improvement project.

Transportation survey started
A week-long transportation survey, open to all Fort Belvoir employees, is available through Sept. 18 from http://www.belvoirnewvision.com. It focuses on commuting and on-post transportation issues.
The information gathered will assist installation planners in making critical decisions about future transportation opportunities on post. See page A7.
