Up front

In preparation for the fall and winter travel season, Fort Belvoir Community Center has a travel show, including vendors from hotels, resorts, cruise lines and attractions to offer their vacation packages. There will be something for everyone. Prizes and giveaways will be provided throughout the event.
The show is today from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

Retiree, Widow, Widower Day
Fort Belvoir’s annual Retiree/Widow/Widower Appreciation Day is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Defense Acquisition University, inside Scott Hall, Bldg. 226, on the corner of 18th Street and Middleton Road.

DeWitt at Retiree Day
Dewitt Army Community Hospital has a Retiree Health Fair Saturday during Retiree/Widow/Widower Appreciation Day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Personnel from the following departments expect to participate: veterinary services, dental, nutrition, optometry, environmental health, pharmacy, wellness/health promotion, radiology, Tricare, managed care and public health nursing.
Services provided at the event include cholesterol screening, blood pressure, bone density and body fat analysis. 
Reluctant speaker?
Are you a reluctant speaker? Do you find yourself secretly rehearsing speeches but your voice can not be heard because it is drowned by fear of public speaking? If so, there is a Speaker Training presentation from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 30 at Barden Education Center.
