Volunteers really needed
Volunteers are needed for Outdoor Recreation’s upcoming haunted house. Volunteers can be characters or guides, help with construction or work on any part needed for a haunted house. Volunteers must be 18 or older.
Interested people are asked to call Karen Bacorn, 703-805-3081 or 703-805-5396.
Meetings are Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Construction is every day in the large indoor archery range, in Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 778, at the corner of Warren and Johnson roads at Tompkins Basin.
The haunted house’s success depends on volunteers.

Fall Festival
Fort Belvoir Elementary School’s Parent-Teacher Organization hosts its annual Fall Festival from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 17. The event includes games, face painting, moon bounces and food. Food tickets and activity wristbands will be sold at the door.
The event is open to all Belvoir families.

Brac fact
The recent decision to locate 6,400 personnel associated with BRAC Recommendation 133 at the Mark Center in Alexandria means that it will become one of three Army-owned work centers, which are Fort Belvoir property, but not contiguous with the post. The other two are Rivanna Station in Charlottesville and Engineer Proving Ground in Springfield.
