Toastmasters open house
The Belvoir Toastmasters Club hosts an open house today from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Barden Education Center. Light snacks will be provided.  Toastmasters is dedicated to helping its members improve their speaking and leadership skills in a supportive, positive setting.
The event will demonstrate how the group’s meetings work and provide information on the Toastmasters System.

Deployed family fun
Deployed Family Fun Day is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Burba Lake, Fort Meade, Md. Families of deployed, soon-to-be deployed, or recently returned are invited to the event, which includes free food, entertainment and resource information from each branch of service in the National Capitol Region.

Career fair
Walter Reed Army Medical Center hosts a Hiring for Heroes Career Fair Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Karen Wagner Sports Center.
The career fair provides an opportunity for veterans, injured servicemembers, and their families to network with employers and get information about career opportunities.
Fair organizers say all servicemembers should attend, no matter how much longer they expect or plan to be in the military.
Event participants include the Department of the Army, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Department of Commerce, Department of Justice/Federal Bureau of Prisons, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Department of Homeland Security, and BAE Systems.
