Up front for Nov. 18

Community Center closure
Bozzelli’s Deli in the Fort Belvoir Community Center is closed today. Bozzelli’s and ITR are closed Friday. The closures are for a Base Realignment and Closure Rehearsal of Concept Drill. Units and organizations should adjust their plans accordingly.

Army Warrants
The Lord Fairfax Silver Chapter, US Army Warrant Officer Association, has its monthly membership meeting today at the Kingstowne Library, on the corner of Beulah and Telegraph roads. The meeting starts at 5 p.m. and includes an installation of newly elected officers.
All active, reserve, and retired warrant officers are invited and encouraged to attend. Information is available from chapter president, CW3 Patrick Morris, 703-945-3140.
Change of command at Specker
The Expeditionary Contracting Command has a change-of-command ceremony Friday at 10 a.m., in Specker Field House.
Brig. Gen. Camille Nichols relinquishes command to Col. Joseph Bass.

Operation Rising Star finals
The winner will be revealed Friday at 8 p.m., in Wallace Theater during the finals of the U.S. military’s Operation Rising Star singing contest.
The public is invited to join the studio audience for the performance. General-admission seating is free, and reserved VIP seating is available.
