College Fair
Extravaganza
Barden Education Center Staff hosts a College Fair Extravaganza Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the auditorium.
Representatives from more than 35 colleges and universities will discuss their degree programs and financial aid available. Education counselors will also be available to provide information on the Army Tuition Assistance Program, Veterans education benefits and the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts Program.
The event includes food, provided by Northern Virginia Community College; and hourly door prizes.

Tree-lighting,
concert
Fort Belvoir’s Holiday Tree-lighting ceremony is at 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at Belvoir Chapel and includes refreshments, music and special visitors.
The U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters and Country Current then perform at 7 p.m. at Wallace Theater. Tickets are free, but are required, and are available from the Belvoir Chaplain’s Office.

Final push for gift cards
Through Tuesday, the post’s annual Sugarplum Holiday Assistance Program accepts gift cards for donations to families.
Soldiers, E-5 and below, or DoD civilians GS-7 and below, assigned to Belvoir are eligible recipients.

Eagle hibernating
The Belvoir Eagle’s last issue of the year comes out Dec. 17. After a two-week hiatus and new furniture, we’ll be back with our first issue of 2010, which hits the racks Jan. 7.
