Fort Belvoir Community Hospital’s Dumfries and Fairfax Health Centers are now scheduling appointments at the new locations, which are planned to open July 2.
The Fairfax and Woodbridge clinics will relocate to new facilities at 10580 Arrowhead Drive in Fairfax and 3700 Fettler Park Drive in Dumfries, respectively.
Eligible patients can book appointments now by calling the existing Fairfax and Woodbridge clinic appointments lines or by using the new appointment line numbers for Dumfries and Fairfax. To continue providing convenient access to care, the existing Fairfax and Woodbridge appointment lines will be available until October.
"The vast majority of providers and staff at both locations will make the transition to the new sites, ensuring patients will continue to have access to the health care professionals they’ve come to know and trust," said Lt. Col. Joel Meyer, medical director at Woodbridge and transition chief for the move.
Both center locations will provide a full range of outpatient, primary and specialty care including laboratory, radiology, specialty health care services, wellness programs, health promotion and disease management. Additionally, the Family health centers will include an after-hours medical call center, an enhanced health promotions plan that includes weekly exercise classes and chronic condition management, and a pharmacy for eligible patients.
"The new Family health centers offer the same, high-quality services that our patients expect," said John Roser, DO, medical director at Fairfax. "We’re looking forward to seeing our patients and their Families at the new locations this summer."
Medical services at the Fairfax and Woodbridge Family health clinics are relocating to new locations to improve clinical efficiencies, provide services in more modern facilities, and increase access to patients by offering services near interstates, major highways and public transportation. Additionally, the previous contract ended, and a new contract was competed and awarded to Spectrum Healthcare Resources, a government staffing division of Knoxville-based medical staffing company TeamHealth. The change in the contractor and transition of medical services necessitated a move to the new sites. The Family health centers will serve approximately 47,000 military personnel and their Families who are enrolled in the TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Plus programs.
