Spectre sweeps the BO with $73m in America

The 24th Bond film produced by EON productions that has released on 24th October has topped the BO chart with a total collection of $300m at the global box office so far.

Daniel Craig who plays the Bond for the fourth consecutive time has however failed to impress the critics as he did with the Sky fall. The 2012 film has fared as much as $88m at the end of two weeks after its release . EON productions, Metro-Goldwyn Mayer Productions and Sony entertainments have declared that the film has had massive openings across all the markets in its opening weekend.

The film has released across 71 territories this weekend has grabbed the top charts all over collecting $117.8m. The results from 40% of the markets really yet to come including France, Australia, China, Japan and South Korea. Josh Greenstein, president, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures, said, “We are thrilled by the staggering numbers coming in from all corners of the globe, and we are very proud to be able to bring this legendary franchise to new heights.”

The film has set all time records in its opening weekend by collecting as much as $80m world wide. However the film is a bigger hit at the UK market than it is at the US market.

The film also stars Christopher Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Monica Bellucci and Ralph Fiennes. The much anticipated release of the film’s dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu along with the English version is all set on 20th November to woo great Indian fans.
