If appropriate treatment will be used to maintain the blood pressure lower than the recommended target will eventually lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases, strokes and heart attacks. This will lead to decline in rate of such diseases among a wide range of patients at possible risk. Better organized management of high blood pressure has achieved around 7.0 mmHg lower systolic blood pressure.
It has declined heart attack risk by 14 percent and stroke also to a great extent. The analysis was done after a study which claimed that there is no notable benefits of intensive blood pressure lowering. So, the new trial gave the evidence to showcase the benefits in wide range of diabetes patients.
The co-author of study, Professor jivheng lv explained that “A key finding was the consistency of findings across major patient groups — those with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, renal disease and also those with just hypertension”. There is possibility for the new revised guidelines to make people aware of it , As the researchers are very sure that such intensive lowering of blood pressure below the recommended targets will give much better health outcomes for the patients. They said that a lot of people are dying from cardiovascular diseases which occur in those who already has a warning sign.
The study was conducted while doing a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised trials where there was comparison of distinguished blood pressure targets. The analysis gave enough evidence to prove the benefits of intensive treatment.
