It’s not been a good start for the Chennai in FC in this season of Indian Super League.

The 3 losses and 2 wins from 5 games have given them a place at the 5th spot in the table of the league and it would be test of the nerves for home-boys while they take on the 2nd place in FC in Pune at JLN stadium this Saturday.

Pune city which would be playing its very 1st game, have done quite well and would be challenging Chennai. They’ve won 3 out of 4 games as they have already been beaten the defending champs Atletico De Kolkata 1, 0 in the last match.

Chennai has come in the game post its loss to North East United FC post conceding the last 2 minute gals. Chennai would yet again be banking upon the partnership of the marquee-player Elano Blumer as well as Colombian forward player Steven Mendoza whos leading the tally of the scorer with 5.

“We have to rotate,” said defender Bernard Mendy. “Last year if you remember we lost two good players [Elano and Mendoza] to injuries towards the end.”

“No,” said Nagul when asked if the team was over-reliant on them.

“We signed them for this kind of impact. But it’s not that others haven’t chipped in. Jayesh [Rane], Jeje [Lalpekhlua] have all had attempts [at goal].”
