Sebi may shortly make biz responsibility reports

With the aim of making the enhanced corporate governance norms, the Sebi recently announced that they have been thinking on the lines of expanding its current companies list which are required to put forward their yearly business responsibility report (BRs) to the market regulator and the list expansion might include the country’s top 500 business corporate.

The reports further highlighted that currently for almost 100 companies the SEBI has made it compulsory to submit the annual the BRs which are at BSE and NSE are based on market capitalization and which would be helping the SEBI to have a better idea about the ongoing problems .

Giving more details about the expansion plans, U K Sinha, Sebi chairman said that with these expansion plans the SEBI is certainly planning to involve about 500 more business giants to submit their yearly business responsibility and wit this reports they would be having a clear idea about the total number of complaints which were, logged against the crimes related child, forced and also including the involuntary labour and sexual harassment held throughout the financial year.

It is a dialogue process which has to start, but they have shown no problem as far as our regulations are concerned. We are in dialogue with tax authority and I hope the government will take a favourable view on REITs,” he said.
