The Respiratory syncytial virus which is pronounced as “sin-SISH-ui”. This is actually a respiratory infection which mainly affects the respiratory passage and the lungs; to be specific trachea, bronchi and bronchioles. It can affect both the adults and children too.

In the initial stage it looks like a common cold only, it can be very mild, not so severe complications. But in some of the cases it could be fatal too, usually lead the patient to be hospitalized. An individual having weak immune system is most likely to face the consequences more than those having a strong immune system.

It is very contagious and affects those people who are in touch with the sufferer, so all the near and dear one specially need to be more alert. It spreads mainly through the droplets, when the affected person sneezes or coughs. If the droplet is inhaled by the healthy person, he will soon develop the disease. So it is very easy to be transmitted from one person to another.

This virus affects most of the children by the time they attain the age of two. It can lead to the development of pneumonia and inflammation the respiratory passage too, it usually cause inflammation in the bronchi or bronchioles of lungs, thereby making it difficult for the sufferer to even breath in the air. The symptom includes runny nose, sneezing, wheezing, blue coloration of skin, coughing, sore throat, Mild headache, fever and loss of appetite.
