In Mumbai, after protesting Shiv Sena activists stormed the BCCI office, police in Mumbai have arrested 10 workers under Section 143, 141, 149 of IPC and 37(1)/135 of Bombay Police Act.
The agitation led to the cancellation of the much-anticipated talks today between PCB chief Shaharyar Khan and BCCI President Shashank Manohar regarding the proposed bilateral series between India and pakistan later this year.
The Indian board in another update decided to shift the venue of its meeting with PCB to New Delhi.
“The talks have not been called off. Mr Manohar and Mr Khan will speak to each other in evening today and tomorrow they are coming to Delhi for another round of talks,” IPL Chairman and senior Board functionary Rajiv Shukla told PTI.
Further condemned the attack by Rajeev Shukla on the BCCI’s headquarters at the Wankhede Stadium.
“BCCI is a responsible body and will not do anything against national interest. Cricketing decisions should be left to BCCI,” Shukla, who is also a top BCCI functionary, wrote on Twitter.
Anurag Thakur, BCCI secretary, slammed the protest and said that it should be staged on roads and not inside offices.
