Rajnath calls up Haryana CM, asks to ensure security to everyone in dalit killing

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, concerned over the killing of two children of a Dalit family in a suspected inter-caste clash, asked Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Khattar on tuesday to ensure security to everyone and prevent any recurrence of such incident in future.

Rajnath Singh in a telephonic conversation with the CM, he expressed concern over the killing of the two children of a Dalit family early Tuesday in Haryana’s Faridabad district.

“The Union Home Minister asked the Chief Minister to ensure peace and that such incidents don’t recur in future,” an official said.

Two children of a Dalit family in a suspected inter-caste violence were killed while their parents received serious burn injuries after their house was set afire.

 

Rajnath Singh has also sought a report from the state administration.

Allegedly by 9 people, their house was also set on fire belonging to the upper-caste Thakur community in a village in Faridabad district of Haryana.

Dalit victim named as Jitender, 27, who is a registered medical practitioner, and his wife Rekha, 24, with their two children Divya (1) and Vaibhav (2) were inside their home in Sunped village when it was set on fire. While Divya and Vaibhav succumbed to their injuries, Rekha and Jitender, has been admitted to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital, and have sustained severe injuries. His long rivalry with people from the upper caste community is said to be the reason behind the episode. In his statement to the police, Jitender, has named a few people from his village for the attack that took place in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
