On Monday, the Central Bureau Of Investigation raided at the premises of former media honcho Peter Mukerjea and his wife Indrani at several places in five cities as part of the Sheena Bora murder probe.
CBI sources said the agency teams raided Indrani’s and Peter residences in Goa and Mumbai, her ancestral home in Guwahati, Indrani’s driver Shyamvar Pinturam Rai’s houses in Chindwara and Mumbai and the residence of Sanjeev Khanna in Kolkata.
Sheena Bora, her daughter from her first marriage, on 24 April, 2012, was murdered and her body was burnt and disposed of in a forest in Raigad district in Maharashtra.
The CBI has filed the case under various sections of IPC including murder, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence, abduction, causing hurt by giving poison and Arms Act.
The central probing agency took over the investigation of the case which was earlier investigated by Mumbai Police on the allegations that the accused persons-Khanna, Indrani and Rai-planned a criminal conspiracy to murder Sheena.
The probing agency interrogated Indrani’s son Mikhail Bora in Guwahati. The agency operation at Mikhail’s house continued for five hours.
Mikhail, after the CBI team left his house, said he was not grilled by the bureau but, they needed some more information on Sheena and his mother Indrani.
“I will fully cooperate with the CBI in the investigation of my sister’s murder case,” Mikhail said.
Meanwhile, a Mumbai magistrate court extended the judicial custody of the three prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case till October 31.
