What’s new! Import Mail into Gmail using Two Tools

Gmail is the most using free email service across the globe. It has updated the features, Now you can import the mail using two tools. get rid of pain and go free with this new update, Today Google open source updated its status about the two projects.

The tools are Mail Importer and import-mailbox-to-gmail, Using these two tools, you can import those old messages from your app to your Gmail account easily. But this is not an official Google product.

What it does is it will just upload all contents of Thunderbird mail archives to your Gmail, it will preserve the folders and messages along with all attachments in your mails. You can use it anytime.

It uses the command-line-based program. It will assist you freely and helps you to import the email with a simple process. Gmail software engineer Ian Flanigan and Google for Work technical solutions engineer Liron Newman said, “It is a Python script that will do bulk imports of multiple mailboxes into multiple accounts in a domain. It’s admin-managed, so your users won’t have to individually import their archives.”

Currently, Gmail has 900 million users. The second tool is like importing .mbox files to Google Apps, the Important note is, “It’s essential to test the migration before migrating into the real users’ mailboxes. First, migrate the mbox files into a test user, to make sure the messages are imported correctly.”

The first tool is useful for technical works and Gmail uses less dependent in a single device with Mozilla.
