To speed up the asylum process, Germany has unveiled new plans, after the governing coalition resolved a rift on the issue, on Friday, a media report said.
Angela Merkel, Germany Chancellor said her government would create up to 5 special centres for asylum-seekers deemed to have little chance of living, a report from BBC said.
The matter was discussed for weeks between junior coalition partners and Merkel’s Christian Democrats, the Social Democrats.
From countries deemed safe, the 5 special centres would hold migrants, includes those barred from re-entering Germany, even those refusing to cooperate.
Cases could be heard in a week, in an accelerated asylum process, not months, even appeals would take only a further two weeks. Even most could expect to be deported.
At least 800,000 asylum seekers, German authorities expect to receive by the end of this year.
