Popcorn Time Is Back! Complete Development in Progress

Good news to all Popcorn Time lovers. The website of Popcorn Time disappeared last year as the developers of the team faced legal action in Canada. However, the team made many fixes to the website and app to work again but the complete comeback is yet to be made.

Internal problems lead to the shutdown of PopcornTime.io, the official domain in October 2015. After a few days, MPAA announced that the team filed a lawsuit against the developers in Canada for the internal problems.

Popcorn Time users were in deep shock when the website stopped working all of a sudden. It’s relatively a quick come back to the relief of the users. The team launched a fixed version of the app which allows movies and TV show to be streamed without any problems on the application. TorrentsAPI is being used this time.

Users are asked to update the version which has a VPN service. Reportedly, this VPN provider allows uninterrupted streaming of movies and websites so that the users will not face any issues.

However, proper changed are yet to made to Popcorn Time for it to become completely operational. The old users of the app cannot use it back until they apply the fix manually. Developer Wally from Popcorn Time said, ““I am still considering a full comeback, I just do not want to release a half working version.”

The team has to make sure that all the domains and details are not accessible to MPAA. “The popularity of Popcorn Time should be an example for the MPAA to a build a future streaming platform that will be open to the entire world,” Wally said.

However, irrespective of all this, users can still use the app as a torrent streaming client by manually loading torrents via the app. The MPAA may come with an objection to stop the app from working.
