Sad News from the Mecca of Indian Cricket!! The most awaited and prestigious third and last Twenty20 International match between India and South Africa has been called off due to wet outfield. After a win in the initial two matches of the three-match series, South Africa is given the trophy. Reportedly, the continuous showers all the evening at Eden Gardens later made it very difficult to bring back the things on track.

Wet Outfield Abandoned the Final T20

However, right from the 7:00PM, both Indian and South African players have stayed away from the ground leaving it to the ground staff in spite of practising. Nevertheless, the groundsmen of Kolkata had tried their best to dry up the ground with two super-soppers though failed in meeting the target.

Initially the official match scorer said that there will be an official review by the match authorities — umpires A K Chaudhary and Vineet Kulkarni and Match Referee Chris Broad — at 7.30 p.m. after which they will settle on the begin. Later, another BCCI tweet fled indicating, there would be another examination which will be made at 8.30 pm. The BCCI tweet said “Despite the lack of rain of late, the umpires aren’t happy. Inspection at 20:30 Local.”

But however, the things got flattered as the pitch remained dump. These circumstances forced the match umpires A K Chaudhary and Vineet Kulkarni to call off the match leaving Indian cricket fans in deep misery.
