Europe’s largest car makes is now perturbed with the business crisis after it confessed the anomalies in U.S. emission tests. The company is briskly after finding out the culprits and fix the malfunctioning cars and produce clear justification of the problem and the steps taken to resolve it.
On Thursday, the company’s pivotal US executive let the lawmakers know that the company broke the rules for about 18 months before it confessed the issue.
“In the spring of 2014 … I was told that there was a possible emissions non-compliance that could be remedied,” Horn, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, admitted in his statement published on a U.S. House of Representatives website.
“I was also informed that the company engineers would work with the agencies to resolve the issue,” he said, without identifying the people providing him with the information.
Volkswagen informed the U.S. regulators about the installation of defective machinery in some of the diesel engines to keep the actual level of toxic emissions disguised.
There has been a chaotic atmosphere in the company on either sides of the Atlantic. The officials are briskly fighting to overcome the crisis. They are answerable to the lawmakers and the customers regarding this issue.
