A recent survey showed that nearly half of the women suffer from symptoms of post-coital dysphoria (PCD) or “post-sex blues.” PCD symptoms include tearfulness, a sense of melancholy or depression, anxiety, agitation or aggression.
46 percent of women experienced post-sex blues at least once

An survey conducted on women recently showed that atleast 46% of women experienced post-coital dysphoria (PCD) or post-sex blues atleast once in their lifetime. 5% of them reported to have experienced PCD few times in the past few weeks. But apparently there was no relation between PCD and intimacy in relationships.
The research was conducted on 230 female university students. Most of them experienced PCD, symptoms of which include tearfulness, a sense of melancholy or depression, anxiety, agitation or aggression after a sexual intercourse.
The lead researcher Dr Robert Schweitzer said, “The findings build upon our previous research investigating the correlates of sexual functioning in women.” According to his paper that appeared in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, “The results of our original research in this area have now been confirmed in an international multinational study on negative postcoital emotions, which appear to have evolutionary functions,”
International Journal of Sexual Health published an Australian study paper in 2011, which said that atleast one-third of women went through symptoms of PCD.
