As per the reports given by the global research consultancy firm TNS, on a daily basis with 51 per cent of users logging, Facebook remains the most popular social networking site among the Indian internet users.

While the reports further highlighted the fact that after Facebook the other messaging app that has been popular among the Indian users and toped the of instant messaging (IM) apps list was WhatsApp.

Moreover according to the a global study findings of Connected Life about the digital attitudes and behaviors included the data of about 60,500 internet users from almost 50 countries, highlighted the fact that when it comes to usage of instant messaging service per day, about 55 percent of the mobile users certainly preferred using WhatsApp.

Briefing more about the study findings, Parijat Chakraborty, TNS India Executive Director said that particularly in India one of the most loved as used social networking site was Facebook and for this reason many of the Facebook users too used Facebook Messenger as the IM platform for sending private messages and for others WhatsApp remained the most well-liked messaging medium on the IM platform in India.

In a declaration, Joseph Webb, Global Director of Connected Life, stated, “Apps like Snapchat, WeChat, Line and WhatsApp are sweeping up new users every day, particularly younger consumers who want to share experiences with a smaller, specific group, rather than using public, mainstream platforms like Facebook or Twitter. As people’s online habits become ever more fragmented, brands need to tap into the growing popularity of IM and other emerging platforms.”
